On 24 November, ZIMA Magazine announced the winner of the autumn session of the ZIMA StartUp contest. The programme aims at supporting new projects and assisting young entrepreneurs from the CIS region to further success. CIS LONDON is proud to remain partner of Zima Startup.
In her speech Svetlana London offered advice to both the investors and the young entrepreneurs. According to CIS LONODON Managing Partner, the foundational documents of a company should not be overlooked as they serve as the legal framework of a business and are the foundation of all further communication between the investor and the start-up.
On 11 November, Svetlana London took part in a conference on the legal and tax aspects of private asset ownership in the UK. The event was organised by BCLP in collaboration with Knight Frank and GlobalEye in Moscow. Svetlana London delivered a presentation on real estate ownership rights for non-UK residents.
On 30 September, The Department for International Trade of the British Embassy in Moscow and The Russo-British Chamber of Commerce held an online seminar on Dispute Resolution.
During the seminar, the representatives of the best British law firms, including CIS LONDON, discussed the key legal aspects and issues in UK and Russia, presented most interesting cases from their practices, and answered questions.
In late September, ZIMA CLUB held a meeting on family governance. Svetlana London, Managing Partner of CIS London, and Teresa Kandelaki, Director of Savills Russian Desk, spoke about the continuity of generations, family governance mechanisms and family constitution.

On 27 September, ZIMA CLUB together with CIS LONDON and The Department for International Trade of the British Embassy in Moscow hosted an online seminar on How to Penetrate the British Market: Opportunities, Risks, Practices.
Addressing the meeting, Svetlana London, Managing Partner of CIS LONDON, spoke about the characteristics of the English corporate law, nuances of the tax system and laws that benefit both the investors and start-ups. In addition, Svetlana spoke about the responsibilities of businesses towards their clients as well as personal data protection legislation.
