London New Tech held an event dedicated to Russian Tech in collaboration with Rutech Ventures on 20 June. CIS LONDON was honoured to support this initiative. In particular, Valeria Ivasikh shared legal tips for start-ups looking to enter the British market.
On 5 June Valeria Ivasikh was invited to give a talk at an event organised by Rutech Ventures – an independent initiative on a mission to accelerate the growth of Russian Tech – at Skolkovo Innovation Centre.
Valeria advised Russian start-ups on how to scale their business in the UK.
CIS LONDON was honoured to run a workshop for the judges of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan on 25 May 2017. Svetlana London was delighted to share her practical experience of working on cross-border projects to the Kazakhstani colleagues.
Svetlana London gave a talk at the Dispute Resolution forum that took place on 19 May 2017 in Astana. Svetlana shared hands-on legal experience on litigation funding.
Svetlana London was honoured to give a lecture for the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 16 May 2017. Svetlana presented on the principles of English contract law and non-contractual remedies.
On 15 May 2017 Svetlana London was invited to the Nazarbaev University, an autonomous research university in Astana, as a guest lecturer. Svetlana presented on ‘International legal projects and English law interplay’.
In spring 2017 Svetlana London was invited to give a series of lectures for law students of the Moscow State University on how to build a successful legal career in the UK. Svetlana was glad to share her own unique experience, as a Russian lawyer (original qualification), of gaining a second qualification as a solicitor in the UK. Moreover, Svetlana provided some first-hand tips for English legal writing and drafting.
On 25 April 2017 Svetlana London run a seminar for the Russian and Kazakhstani lawyers as a part of the series of events “International Arbitration. Enforcement of awards after the Brexit”. Svetlana gave practical tips on coordinating legal projects involving English law and shared her experience of dealing with contracts governed by English law, non-contractual remedies and dispute resolution in the UK.
