CIS London & Partners is pleased to announce that we are teaming up with BPP University to offer senior legal managers based in or focused at Russia & the CIS the unique opportunity to study MBA (Legal Services).

The MBA Legal Services programme will be delivered by BPP University, who exclusively trains over 45 leading UK and global law firms’ trainees and delivers programmes to leading companies in the UK.

And as well as improving their knowledge of business and management, a much sought-after training scheme at CIS London & Partners will be offered to top 10 performers.

Managing Partner Svetlana London said, ‘Until recently, the MBA Legal Services was only available to trainees for one of the top law firms in London. However, having worked hard with BPP University on developing the idea, I’m really proud this innovative programme is now accessible to lawyers based in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.’

We run a seminar in Moscow for IT businesses and business incubators and accelerators. We have covered the legal aspects of investments in IT start-ups and our guest speaker Maria Liberman covered the practical and commercial issues.

Svetlana London presented on the CFC rules at the conference held in Luxembourg for private bankers, tax lawyers, compliance officers, fiduciaries, life insurers, independent wealth managers and trust specialists. Svetlana briefly described recent trends and discussed the practical issues. She also acted as the moderator for the conference.

Svetlana London took part in a web conference that was organised by Cordery. The webinar covered the scope of sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia. Svetlana gave the Russian perspective on the sanctions and also provided the participants with a brief overview of the Russian sanctions against other countries.

Svetlana London presented at the Anti-Corruption Statutes Panel organised by the New York State Bar Association at the International section’s seasonal meeting “Rebuilding the Transatlantic Marketplace: Austria and Central Europe as Catalysts for Entrepreneurship and Innovation”.

Svetlana London participated in discussion jointly organised by Solicitors Regulation Authority, the Law Society and Russian Federal Chamber of Lawyers on SRA’s Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme and the opportunities it provides for Russian and CIS Lawyers.

Svetlana London gave a talk on QLTS examination within the “Introduction to legal services in the UK” program that the Law Society of England and Wales organised and held for the delegation of Russian lawyers. Svetlana has shared her experience of becoming an English solicitor via the QLTS route.
