Svetlana London and Valeria Ivasikh of CIS London & Partners LLP have attended Russian Midlands Business Club’s “Success in Russia” seminar on 23 March in Birmingham, where Svetlana addressed the audience with an overview of Russia and other CIS countries’ legal framework.
In particular, Svetlana touched on Russia’s recent data protection and media ownership restrictions, as well as the more general matters of ongoing civil law reform and legal due diligence of Russian companies.
Svetlana London gave a talk on ‘Technical updates: Advising Internationally Mobile Russian Clients’ within STEP’s Advising International Russian Clients seminar, kindly hosted by KPMG in London.
CIS London & Partners team attended the Eastern Ukrainian forum of the Ukrainian Bar association that took place on 11-12 March 2016 in Kharkov. The forum consisted of several panel discussions and a business breakfast where Svetlana London presented the unique MBA (Legal Services) program. It was a delight to see the audience being genuinely interested in the topic.

Our colleagues from MdR have shared their experience in setting up the structures for safeguarding business & family capital. CIS London team has given the Russian law perspective, namely, the possible consequences and taxation issues of setting up international structures for Russian residents (including the application of the CFC rules).
Svetlana London was invited to speak within Skolkovo business school course for venture capitalists and business angels, covering the topic of structuring of venture deal.
CIS London & Partners gave a talk on the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme followed by a joint presentation with BPP University on MBA (Legal Services) in Tbilisi, Georgia on 15 December 2015.

Since its launch in late 2013, Impulse VC has been investing extensively in Internet markets and is one of Russia’s top-tier venture funds. In a recent deal, it has signed a $4 million investment agreement to acquire a stake in a breakthrough cloud video surveillance service, Ivideon.

International conference on implementation of certain provisions of the common law in the national legislation of Kazakhstan, Astana, Kazakhstan
Managing Partner of CIS London & Partners LLP Svetlana London talked on various issues and methods of implementation of certain provisions of English law in the law of Republic of Kazakhstan. The conference were organised by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
